Greetings from a new member

Hello all,

I just joined and am hoping to find some sailing this winter. I am taking a sabbatical from my job as a museum curator, actually quitting but with no job to go to, and would like to do some cruising in January 2014. I have sailed small boats when I lived in New England and Washington state but living in New Mexico hasn't been conducive to sailing so its been a while. I'm in good physical condition, catch on fast and a good cook. I'm thinking the Caribbean in January and then perhaps the Mediterranean in the summer. I'm open to possibilities and hope I find some here. If you'll be needing crew in January, let me know and I'll supply more details.

Welcome aboard, have fun on your sabbatical. Be sure to check out the crewing section here at CF. And also a word of advice for crewing. Be sure to look at crewing interviews as a two way street, as they interview you you can interview them. Don't just hope on a boat cause they want you, check out their safety gear, ask about latest maintenance, captains attitude towards heavy weather tactics and their route and departure schedule. If they can't remember the last time they hauled out or are heading to the North Atlantic in the winter...might be hints it won't be a fun trip.
Anyways, have a great time.
