Greetings from 10 Forward

Hello all. Having just joined your forum it's time to tell you a little about us. In 2005 we managed to get our daughter through college and decided it was time for an adventure. After a little soul searching we arrived at sailing. So we joined a yacht club since we had no sailing experience. After being told the usual advice ( such as don't do it ; you're crazy etc ) we sold the house and purchased our Mason 63 and named her 10 FORWARD. After a little refitting, such as new sails, new electronics and well maybe a lot of refitting we hired a wonderful sailing instructor and after two weeks of instruction we left San Francisco Bay and have never looked back. Now it's 2010 and 12,000 miles later and we are currently guests at the Long Beach Yacht Club weathering out a storm. We have two permanent crew, Alice and Chewie our two cats who have been with us from the beginning. We were recently offered a permanent slip and my boat mate's response was " Where's the adventure in that ? " and so on we go. Fair winds

Trekkie Sailers

Welcome to the cruising world,

We were members at LBYC from about 1973 until 1990, sailed away May 1988, cruised nine of the last 21 years, lived aboard our Cal 46 for 19 of those years.
Do it now!
As long time "Trekkies" we had friends record all new episodes and send or bring them to us as we roamed Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, Bahamas, east coast of the USA. We would invite other cruisers and locals over to our boat, bring a TV out on deck and run Star Trek episodes.

Enjoy! If you ever get to the Gulf Coast and Pensacola area, come visit. We can always make room at our dock for "Ten Forward".

I've got the latest movie and a DVD player. If you see a Valiant waving franticly at you- just place your phasers on stun....

That is too funny. You're doing what the wife and I are working towards. Not too much left to do other than a bit more work and close the office. Good luck to you!
