We're a Father-Son crew embarking on a circuit of the Atlantic. The provisional plan being Toronto - NY(current location, May 26th, 2008) - Bermuda - Azores - Canary Islands - Antigua (or perhaps Saint Lucia) by early January.

I've joined the forum with the purpose of using it as a valuable research tool, and to possibly meet fellow cruisers.

Welcome Mike - as a sailor who will be embarking on a similar trip next year (albeit ultimately to Venezuela) and, as a previous owner of a Bayfield 32, I envy your head start. I can also confirm that this will be a good place to seek advice on various topics and, of course, to share the experiences of you and your son.

In late 2010 I plan to leave Canada in search of a boat that I can make my home on.
If you are in Toronto or the vicinity; wouldn't mind someone picking your brain and listening to anything you would share about your sailing experiences please drop me a line.
I have much to read and learn but listening to first hand tales of the sea could be of even greater benefit.

kdk: I'm from Toronto, and will be returning home after some cruising in the Caribbean, My father is retired and will stay aboard until the novelty wears off(likely never). I would be happy to meet with you and share anything I know and will have learned that could be helpful.

We won't have internet access while offshore, but will have Sailmail via SSB. I'll visit this forum when possible, and do my best to contribute as much as I take from it.
