Greetings all

G'day everyone

I am a 32 year old Norwegian guy living in Oslo, Norway. I have been an active sailor for 26 of those years.

My reason for registrating on this site is the hope for obtaining a crewing position for the Sidney-Hobart 2013.

My sailing CV is as following:

Age 6: Started out in a optimist-dinghy. Competed both national and international.
From there I have been active in a lot of other dinghys like E-Dinghy, 49er(not competing), Hobie Cat and more..
Keelboat experience:
Sailing keelboats, I usually tend på be on the helm or main trimmer. I am however very comfortable in any position.
Right now I am sailing on two teams in Norway.
Black Magic (First 35)
Team Magic (King 40)

I am sailng main trimmer on both boats.

Other regatta experiences include:
First 31.7 - Helm
Hanse 325 - Floater & 2nd helm
ILS 40 - Helm
Bavaria 50 - Helm
Bavaria 35 Match - Helm / Floater

If anyone needs a dedicated sailor for Sidney-Hobart, please feel free to contact me.

Hello mate.... Welcome to CF..
By the way... what's a 'Floater'??
Reason I ask is there was a Thread where folk were complaining about them in Florida...

Re: Greetings all

Hello,

Guess people use different words for some positions on board a boat;-)

When I say floater, i mean the person(s) who dont have a specific "main" task on board... Often the term "Trailer" is used as well....

Basically, its the people you have on board to get some extra kg going upwind:-)

I often have that position when im sailing on a new boat as a reserve.. because then i am free to move around and help out where it is needed..
