Thumbs up Greetings

Greetings,
I'm Colm Madden, originally from Dublin Ireland, now living in Goa, India. I've sailed monohulls for 40 years including a transatlantic from Nova Scotia, Canada to Torrevieja Spain in 2003 on my Westsail 32. Last year I purchased a Beneteau Blue Catamaran and find the change a little tricky, "old dogs and new tricks" and all that stuff !! (I'm 66 this June), granted thats the "new" 46, at least thats what I'm told.
I'd love to do the "Blue Water" circumnavagation rally 2009/11 and would welcome anyone interested in considering joining me, I don't think my wife will come!
I hope to find lots of opinions and views on this and other crusing subjects. My boat is in the UK not India as we come there each summer to spend time with daughter and grandsons.
Colm

iWelcome to the Forum, Colm.

With your monohull sailing experience, and now multihull, you'll be in a position to make valuable input. The mult vs. mono debates get a bit spirited around here!

Have you asked her? My wife shocked me by agreeing to live on our boat for six months of Caribbean cruising. The ladies can surprise you!

cmadden,

All those years sailing, and switching to a multi. It will be interesting to read your viewpoints. Welcome here, and to the multi-world.....lol

greetings

After 41 years of marriage and several discussions about boats and sailing, I've a pretty good idea what she'll say. But you're right, I'll ask again.! Just in case she says no I'm still looking for an interested person for the "Blue Water" 2009/11.

Aloha Colm,
Welcome aboard! Good to have you here on the forum. Moving to a multihull, what's to learn?
Kind regards,
JohnL

Welcome aboard. OMG someone else in my age bracket. My wife surprised me by moving aboard in December. She is living aboard and I am a prisoner in the middle east. (LOL) one more year on my contract.

I asked??

I asked my wife about the "Blue Water"2009/11 and as expected she said "no" so I'm still looking for a partner to sail on my boat!
And thanks for all the welcomes.
Colm
