Thanks for the welcome! I'd love to try out sailing in warmer waters someday, but I'm pretty excited to explore the PNW for the next little while.
Sailing warmer waters does have a lot going for it. My first trip to the west coast
my CA friends took us to the beach in Marin County. Middle of August I stuck my foot in the water
and was astonished at how cold it was. No way I was going in that without a wet suit. Meanwhile, even in far north FL, last year we went water skiing for Christmas
But the tradeoff, the land side in FL is pretty flat and plain. The photos I've seen of the US northwest and BC area are spectacular. Maybe you can't get in the water but the sights are to behold. On the other hand, go to Keys in south Florida
and the water is a color of clear blue that will take your breath away.
