Good day from the Chesapeake

I came across this site recently and wanted to get back here as it has plenty of good information and it is active. I have been on a 10 year hiatus (children) from sailing where my wife and I learned on a small? O'day of 19'.

I am looking to get back out on the water and due to some family growth, we need to go bigger than before. Now, I am looking at a live aboard or coastal cruiser - wind powered. I hesitate on "Coastal Cruiser" as people have various thoughts on what that means. I like the Gemini 3000/3400, but I am in the formulation stages so I want to see the options. I plan to head over to the boat show">Annapolis Boat show in October to see what's new.

Ideally, I would dock near Baltimore and use it, instead of a hotel when traveling there. Then head out for weekends, teach the kids to sail, maybe head down south for the winter. As that would be late winter, an ideal boat would be one that wintered well in a cold climate. I am trying to stay under $100k but that could just be my optimism showing.

I have been fumbling around sites trying to get prices, but it seems like a lot of them have so much out of date information (boats that sold two years ago but are still listed), it is tough to find accurate information.

Kefaa - Welcome to Cruisers Forum and I hope you enjoy the site. Welcome back to sialing and good luck on your search. A lot of folks like yachtworld.com and I like boats.com. Many boats are listed in multiple places but everything we hear is that it's becoming a buyers market.

Aloha Kefaa,
Welcome aboard! I agree that there will be many more boats for sale this winter and spring for a better buyers price. Good luck in your search.
Kind regards,
