Getting ready to liveabroad in Western Caribbean

Currently in Clear Lake TX and getting ready within one year to cruise to Honduras. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated.

Can't resist the temptation to comment that 'liveabroad' might be culturally ill-advised in the Western Caribbean. 'Liveaboard' I know nothing about.

Couples I know (3) have recommended Roatan Island in Honduras. There are some marinas there that will take liveabroads. We have been living abroad was 6 years in So. Carolina, So FL and Clear Lake TX.

Roatan is about the only place in Honduras I'd even go at the moment. There are a lot of long term livaboards up the Rio Dulce in Guatemala, and it's fairly close to Roatan.

We like Rio Dulce a lot ! have set out a couple of Hurrycane seasons there! But then we stay with our boat and don't fly home or anything like that ! We don't like the bus ride to the air port ! LOL we have used a couples rent a car to pick up our daughter for a few weeks sailing !! great place for weather, food, music, and fair prices! we liked Bocas also Just our 2 cents
