getting ready to go cruising

My partner, Graham, and I found this forum while surfing the internet. We have minimal sailing experience, but have been dreaming of going cruising for the past 3 years. We've quit our jobs, have been driving around Florida, camping and looking for a nice offshore sailboat. After looking at numerous boats, we have found the right boat for us, a 34' Creekmore cutter. The boat is in Miami, FL, so I guess that is where we will be for the time being. We have some work to do on the boat. Because of our minimal sailing experience, I am sure we will have many questions and need lots of advice. When we are finished getting the boat ready, getting familiar with the boat, and after waiting out hurricane season, we plan to head south to the Carribean. Not sure how far the adventures will go, perhaps the South Pacific and beyond? We will see where the winds take us.

The Creekmore 34 is an affordable dream machine that can take you anywhere you want to go. Thirty-four feet of yacht is a good size for two people to handle, and it's big enough to live aboard and sail offshore. One of my sailng mentors did his circumnavigation in a Tartan 30. He and his wife had an awesome four year adventure. The size of your boat isn't nearly as important as the size of your dreams. Go for it.
