Getting ready for Mexico this fall

Greetings to all. I have read many valuable and varied opinions from the forums here and finally decided to register. So my gratitude for all the help already given! We are getting ready to return to our Cal 29 on the hard in Guaymas sometimes in October, so you can see we have a "minimal" cruiser lifestyle (except for safety gear). As always, a month of work before getting on the water.

I look forward to getting a lot more from the forum.

welcome. make sure you dont just "do" soc...the southwest coast, aka coastalegre is beautiful, not desert and friendly, not many yotties in summer, thank gods, and pleasant with inexpensive repairing, just no haul yards.

Hi, all the best!! ZeeHag is right on! Do not miss the Mexican Pacific Golden Riviera, from PV down to Manzanillo--Barra de Navidad is a must! If you can, get down to Z-Town (Zihuatanejo), only 230 nm SE of Manzanillo. Hope to see you there!

Re: Getting ready for Mexico this fall

"the T I P saga" is nothing. you will have in your possession
your passport
your visa
t i p for each your boat and your zoom dinghy. if you have merely a rowboat, it is covered in your tip for big boat. if mexican official can consider your dinghy with its engine a sport boat, then it requires its own t i p.
this i sfor your own safety, btw, not just because it is th ething to do to cruisers this year. with your t i p you have your hull numbers and enginenumbers on frecord with mexican govt and in your hands.
you also need liability(3rd party) insurance to cruise mexico.
as you are returning your boat to guaymas, you already know all thi sand these posts have been superfluous to your effort, but mebbe have helped someone else .

there has been much ado about nothing made of late.

i hope you survived odile in good shape. i know many others havent , and it was a monster.

smooth sailing.
