G'day To Everyone New To The Site & Looking Forward To Meeting And Making New Friends

hi everyone,

i joined up to learn, share info and meet people that enjoy sailing. i've worked around australia fishing and skippering various types of boats, my last few years have been spent between the kimberley, arnhemland and out to melville island.

Now, i'm the proud owner of a "new" yacht, and am planning a trip from adelaide to newcastle for starters, after that i'm not too sure, but will most likely depend on where i'm working.

i had a stint for a few years in sydney, on the north shore skippering on the harbour and pittwater. alot of good memories. i'm really looking forward to getting started again and despite feeling very rusty, i'm just looking forward to being back on the water and doing some cruising to some new places. so, it'll be great to meet a whole bunch of new people and make some good friendships. that's one of the things i've enjoyed about working on the water - the commradary.

Anyway, i'm also a qualified carpenter and have a degree in aquaculture. i'm a professional fishing guide woh enjoys the sport and the feed when i get the chance. i also enjoy surfing, guitar and photography, again when i get the chance.

Right now i'm studying my master 4, so i'm busy. i have an med2, and master 5. so when i finish up in another few weeks i'll be chasing work.

Ok, look forward to participating in the forums and this site.

cheers jos

Re: G'DAY TO EVERYONE NEW TO THE SITE & LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING AND MAKING NEW FRI

G'Day Jos,

Crikeys, another digger! That's three in a row this arvo. At any rate, welcome to CF, and enjoy the sometimes cantankerous folks who post here. There are lots of Aussies on board already, and some of us "almost Aussies" as well, so there will be folks who understand your speech and attitudes... maybe!

Anyhow, keep a lookout for us on Insatiable II, and give us a hoy if we cross wakes.

Oh... study hard and get the ticket.

Cheers,

Jim

PS I'm familiar with the Duncanson 34 but not the 40. Post a pic if you can... I think the 34s are pretty boats!

Duncanson40,

Welcome aboard from Jim's lesser "half".

I just wanted to say, not knowing how big a place Adelaide is, there is another CF member there, whose CF name is GILow, and who, with his wife, owns a Swanson 42 called Manera.

You've obviously sailed some interesting waters, and must have some fine stories to tell.

Ann
