Hello everyone. Just cruising the web and noticed this site. We have a Catana 42S that we are bringing around from Cairns to Darwin in April.

Darwin offers good access to Asian cruising ground with Bali about 4-5 days away and Singapore 10. There are also many good anchorages in the Northern Territory but the crocs make the swimming a very quick process.

Welcome aboard!

Local practice for swimming from your cat in crockie waters is to place a ramp from the water to your bridge deck, then tether a live chook in the helmsman's seat. All the crocks climb up onto the boat to get at the chook, and then you can safely swim.

hi Ian from a fellow oz i remember many yrs ago they started putting croc gages in the water around darwin harbour to catch and relocate the crocs are they still doing it
