G'Day all...

For post #1 on this site, I'll just tell everyone that I've been a sailor since I was about 12 years old (grew up on the Puget Sound in Washington) but haven't touched a sheet in 16 years.

My wife - a "landlubber" from Arizona - and I just plunked down the money for a San Juan 21 Mk.I - to be re-named Caledonia Bound (ambitious, ain't it?) - so that I could get back into the water, brush the barnacles off my skills and pass them along to my wife and son.

I expect for the next little while I'll be haunting the boards relatively quietly, listening to the sea stories y'all have to share, while I make some of my own with my family.

Thanks for having me aboard.

Welcome aboard DefiantSix, what's a nice American doing using a good Aussie salutation like G'Day (although I think we normally say it as "G'day").

Hope you enjoy the CF voyage as much as I have.

You'd be amazed what you pick up when you're the son of a Navy sailor. "G'Day" is short, sweet and to the point, while naturally carrying a lot of up-beat energy with it, so I adopted it into my stable of vernacular.
