Hi everyone. I am new to Cruisers Forum and very excited to be here. My husband and I plan to be cruising full time by the spring of 2014. We currently live in the
USA, Colorado and sail on Lake Dillon, which has very unpredictable winds and weather! (snow in July for example) We are beginning our
research for our
cruising sailboat. We know a few things so far. We want it to be between 42 and 45 feet. We want it to have less than a 6 foot
draft but still be sturdy enough for
water sailing">blue
water sailing as we eventually want to go beyond the
Caribbean. At one time we thought we wanted a
center cockpit with an aft master
cabin, but we have heard that the aft
cockpit with a bow master
cabin is better. We have lotts of questions and lotts of ambition as we prepare for departure. I know 2014 seems far away, but time goes pretty fast and there is a lot to do to get ready!! I would welcome any input and any friends!!
