So, up the Chattahoochee, through the locks and based in Lake Seminole? That is a hurricane hole. What kind of draft will fit up there? Maybe I should consider that for my hideout.

Welcome to the forum. Do you plan to escape back to salt water in the future?

Thanks to all for the welcome, glad to have found you!
We came up the Apalachicola, locked thru at Woodruff lock & Dam, and then up the Flint River (east side of lake) to Bainbridge, GA. We unstepped our mast in Carrabelle as the bridge in Chattachoochee, Fl is only 37' off the water. So, it is not ideal for most SV's, however, we have work to do on the mast, so the time was right for us. It is gorgeous coming up the Apalachicola and this is indeed a great spot for the season. We are spending our first summer ever in a covered slip, what a relief! Anyone wanting more info can check them out on line, just type in Bainbridge Marina, GA. They are a new marina with all the amenities and the nicest people.

Yes, we do plan on getting back to salt water at some point, however, we are thinking that since the mast is off maybe we will do a bit more river "cruising" first.

We only draw 18" so are able to go nearly anywhere. I will get more info for you from the folks here at the marina and get back to you.

Heck, if y'all are in Bainbridge, then you just gotta take a road trip to Cairo, GA (pronounced KAY'-ro).

Fair Winds,
Mike

Or if you want to go to the big city drive a little further north to Albany (pronounced awl-BINY)
