From the crew of S/V Spirit

Hi All, Spirit is a 1980 C&C 40 currently in Solomon's, MD at Calverts Marina. Her crew is Bill and Carol Chace...(high school sweethearts 38 years later) and Genaker our affectionate Labrador.
Bill is a Captain with a NY based tug and barge company and has experience as a fishing Captain on George's Bank as well as the Bering Sea. Carol is a former school administrator and banker....and a very good golfer. Gen is a 6 year old yellow Lab who has sailed with us more often then not.
We are originally from Massachusetts but live in North Myrtle Beach, SC now. We spent the last 5 summers on a mooring in Buzzards Bay so we have made the trip north and south enough.
Looking fwd to sharing experiences, short stories and long laughs with our fellow Sailors.
Fair Winds,
The crew of Spirit

Re: From the crew of S/V Spirit

We spent three years at Calvert Marina in the 1980s. Hope you have time to explore the area. Nice place.

Re: From the crew of S/V Spirit

I learned early on as an apprentice seaman to share what you have learned with your shipmates. It could save their life and possibly your own. That lesson has stood the test of time and been proven true more than once. And I hope to l earn some things from the experienced sailors here as well. Thank you all for the welcomes. We look fwd to meeting all we can. Spending the summer in Solomon's, Md Calvert Marina slip HH 16. We'll be somewhere within 75 NM of here. ALWAYS listening to ch 16.
Regards, Bill, Ca and Gen
