Well, funny story- he is now taking a different position- starts May 4th- 2 weeks from today- in Greenville SC- 12-18 month contract. So yes he's been home a couple months and now off to the next job. The boat is a surprise. I have to get it here and get it at least cleaned up and started so he can see the potential
He'll be home just once a month so I'll have plenty of time to work on it- once I figure out how to get it home.

Getting antsy to get the boat and get it started. Spending way too much time surfing the net looking at boat stuff. Not much info on the Bristol 35. Anyone that has any info please let me know. The Bristol owners group has very little on this particular boat.

Is the boat home yet?

Lots you can do without the Bristol owners group....prepping the hull and topsides for painting, re-bedding and re-installation of the life lines and stanchions, that will get you started on the outside....perhaps check the mast wiring, and if it's original changing it out, converting mast lights to LED, working on the interior wiring and converting lighting to LED, cleaning the water tank/tanks inside.....you'll have enough to keep you busy while you search for info both on the net and from other owners....perhaps doing a search on Bristol 35's on sailboatlistings.com might bring up an owner or two.........

You are going to be busy, busy, busy! When you need a break, we'll be back to Moorahme in about 3 weeks!

There is a lot to do, that is an understatement. I plan to redo all the wiring and make it all led. I'd like to find out about the tanks- might replace them but want to inspect them for sure. Also thinking about redoing the refrigeration. Going to go with the composting head for sure. Still debating doing and electric motor over the desiel which needs work. I think I want to paint the outside first then rebed all the hardware. Also want to replace hatches. Lots to do but I would like to get some more info on them. Only 60 some made so it's not going to be easy. I've emailed everyone I could find about them. Stalked sailboat listings and emailed the owners, emailed the muesum that has all of Aldens stuff etc. I'll plug along and keep ya updated. Might have to fly up and meet you along your travels this summer.

Paint is the last thing you do, otherwise you risk damaging your paint job. LEDs are a great idea for limiting electric consumption. Good choice.

I knew you were going to say that about the paint- dang it! doesn't that mean I will have to all around the hardware? I wanted to avoid that, plus I figured it would make it look better when hubby gets to see it
but you are probably correct that I should wait. Maybe just a base coat to spruce her up?

I will probably paint the outside, at least the hull- after redoing through hulls. The inside will wait until I redo tanks if need be- found out the fuel tank in mononel (spelling?) not sure about the water tanks.
Still lots to figure out, sure I'll make mistakes but that's what learning is all about.
