First time poster, long time sailer.

There are some sites that you wish you never visited and then others that you wish you had YEARS ago. This is the one I needed to find years ago. I hope I can share some of my "Never do that again!" wisdom? and learn some new and better ways to let the wind take me there.

I down sized recently to a Hunter 280 and its docked at Lake Lanier, GA. I bought it just in time for the lake to drop 18-20 feet! lol. Its been raining, finally, and the lake is up about 7 feet now. AND I'm back in my original slip that was dry for the last 6 months.

Its just practice for tide changes in New Foundland or BC or parts of England with alot of tidal range. LOL

At least you didn't get stuck on the hard. Lakes have finicky water line in the winter. Take that baby to sea!

Been to sea but sadly I am now 3.5-4 hours away from salt. So a sailors gotz to do whatz a sailors gotz to do. Wind still howls here.

Welcome Ricky

I am sorry that you have to be so far the ocean! I have a hard time being stuck in Long Island Sound opposed to the OCEAN! A sailor's heart is always broken when the sailor to far from the sea! My heart is broken being stuck to the computer for a thrills about sailing!

Broken heart??? Lemme tell ya 'bout broken heart. Buy a boat in Febuary 2007 and not step on it until April 2008. Havent raised the sails yet. Been traveling to much, but its time NOW!
