First Post - From Halifax UK, Heading to Thailand One Day

Just a quickie to say Hi

I'm very new to sailing, ie. i'm used to trying to paddle away from waves on my belly
someone planted the seed of a catamaran in my head and it just won't go away dammit

I plan to emigrate to Thailand eventually and chartering my own boat out may just be a possible income, who knows? certianly not me, im here to learn more

Regards
Ben

Aloha Ben,
Welcome aboard! I think most of us on this forum have shared your thoughts and dreams. I just was never too excited about catamarans but there are others here who are so I'm certain they'll say hello as well.
Kind regards,
JohnL

Hi Ben and welcome to Cruiser Forum. Thailand is just up the road a piece from me. PLenty of sialing there including some chartering going on.

Good luck on your dreams. Thailand and Malaysia both have decent retirement visa schemes.

Well then. If not retired then you will have to become an expert on Thai immigration laws in order to run a charter business legally.

Not impossible but requiring commitment and research.
