Hello all,
I'm a long time
small boat sailor (Sunfish, Beetle Cat, Flying Scot, Ensign) who had a great time getting my US Sailing Keelboat, Basic Cruising, and
Bareboat certificate on a
Hunter 38 in
New York Harbor late last year. I've already navigating with curiousity through various
forums here and been impressed with the intelligent
advice, great sea tales, and good
humor but I haven't found the thread I've been looking for. What I'd like to find on this site or others on the web is member's experiences and
advice on
bareboat chartering in the BVIs. The
kids are away at college and I like them enough to have them around for the one
vacation we can all spend together--the December break, but we'll all be happier if we're out sailing rather than cooped up in a NY apartment. So greetings and please orient my
compass in the direction of the best bareboat
forums and I welcome any advice the community can give on
charter companies, brokers, charterable monohulls for four that you've enjoyed sailing, and favorite grounds where the
winter "high season" won't make me and my
family feel we're cueing up for a downtown subway.
Summer is here.
