Hi Cooper,

See you also speak Australian Japanese.

I met up with Maria on the East Med Rally in 2006 and subsequently shared a glass of wine of two in company along the Turkish coast when she crewed on another yacht.

Maria is a lovely lady.

My comment refers to the consternation a 'new' lady appears to have on a predominantly male site like ours..............check out how many guys are responding to her greeting compared with most others.

Cheers
JOHN

swagman,

That's pretty much the nature of the beast. Although I just assumed that lovely form on the bow was the girlfriend of ferroever. Sometimes I am thick as a brick......LOLOLOLOL

Hey swagman, I just remembered a story "told to me by a friend of a friends friend" ...

An old sailor sitting on a jetty watching the boats come and go, chuffin on his pipe and doing what he has done for years. Observing.

Along down the jetty strolls the friend. Leans up on the rail next to the old sailor. Enjoys the sun on his back and the activity.

After a while he decides to strike up a conversation with the old sailor. "Lots of nice boats coming and going"-the sailor nods,

"most seem to have only have a single guy on them" remarks the friend to the old sailor.- the sailor nods.

"and why would that be ?" says the friend.
"Ah", says the old sailor looking up with a smile, "theyre fishing".
"Really" says the friend, they dont look set up for fishing, there mostly yachts".
"Yep" says the old sailor, "there fishin allright, fishin for mermaids". "Wont catchem though, see, mermaids, are very discerning." "see much ta the consternation of our boaty lads here, mermaids dont care about the boat, and they dont go for rusty hooks with smelly bait"........
