Dreaming of the water from WV

Hey all - I figured I should actually make an intro thread.

I moved to WV from MD (USA) 3 years ago and have always wanted to sail. Now that costs of living are cheaper for me farther inland, I can start building up my nest egg. My eventual plans are to retire and sail full time, but for now I'll be dreaming and soaking up information.

This seems like a pretty friendly online community - thanks in advance for the warm welcomes!

Welcome to the site! I grew up in WV and my father would take me to the coast on occasion. I can remember the smell of the ocean as we got closer! Still striving to get there one day. Do live in So Carolina now and only 3 hours from the ocean. A lot closer than in Sistersville Wv !!

Thanks for the kind words! This site has been very friendly so far. I'm trying to spend a lot of time lurking and not much posting - there's a lot of knowledge and experience here to soak up.

Don't know if you've had a basic sailing course or are past that point but I'd recommend one to get you on the water with like minded folks the next time you can get to ocean or bay.
