Desert Dweller

Yes, I live in the Arizona desert, but love the ocean and all things related. Been a lurking CF member for several months, but thought is was about time to introduce myself. My wife and I recently purchased a Hunter Passage 42 and plan to do some local cruising in So Calif. whenever we get the chance - our last daughter is still in High School. Would like to make plans for more distant destinations in the future. We have some experience with a previous 30' sailboat, but this is my first 40+ boat. Still learning the ropes and gaining experience, so I love the threads, contributors, and all the great information in this forum.

Re: Desert Dweller

Wow, sounds like the beginning of a great adventure . Welcome aboard Cruisers Forum. Always wanted to see Arazona ( I'm a geology nerd along with being a boats nerd). Anyways, hope you get out soon.

Welcome! I am from AZ and still have plenty of family there. They ask if I would think of moving back......and I like to be on the boat way to much to make that drive to SD!

I hope you get to enjoy the boat enough!

Re: Desert Dweller

Five or six years ago I saw the desert for the first time and love it as much as the sea. My uncle spends the winter out there and I enjoyed hiking the desert and mountains around Tuscon. The boat is on the east coast (Deltaville, Va) and I'm in the mountains of NC away from both the desert and the sea. Need to get back to one or the other......or both.
