Welcome aboard our humble home.
We (actually, I (Joe)) have been spending far too much time on another board dominated by too many non-cruising fools pontificating and flaming each other over fringe political issues. What I see here is a refreshing change after all that nonsense.
We managed to retire early (at 55) and move aboard our new Nauticat 42 "Karen M" (Named after our daughter, so she'd know how we blew her inheritance -- click on our homepage icon for more pix) in June 2003. Since then we have cruised the east coast
(mostly outside) from Tampa Bay to the coast of Maine
and are now in Ft. Lauderdale, temporarily delayed from our Bahamas/Caribbean plans by Peg's broken wrist (She tripped in the marina parking lot and recovery looks promising). We'll probably head
north for the upcoming hurricane
season, perhaps again to Maine
I am a native of the Boston area , but I found my irreplacible first mate in the midwest. She's a retired nurse practitioner/clinical specialist in oncology. I am a retired fed and former nuclear submarine officer with some flying in my resume.
We enjoy meeting other cruisers and sincere wannabes, so look us up in Ft. Lauderdale over the next month.
