pirate Cubicle-Trapped and Seeking the Horizon

I always imagined that only a lifetime of servitude in the rat-race would provide for wandering the planet by sea!

Who knew that cruising the seas was actually an option for the young?!

$2,000 well spent gave me a glimpse into my future as I sailed for a week between the British Virgin Isles aboard a Leopard 4200.

Now, the confines of my cell/cubicle only remind me of the size of my cabin =)

Having acquired ASA Certifications 101, 103, 104 & 114 and chartered more than a few monohulls out of Santa Barbara, my thirst for adventure and my drive to capture the setting sun has become my new hope to survive my existence in this cage (the aforementioned cubicle!)

My envy to all you who have escaped the shackles of area codes and addresses, wristwatches and schedules, deadlines and meetings!

Fairwinds and cheers to all you cruisers and circumnavigators! May fate and kind breezes cause our paths to cross that I may someday drift by and share with you what can't be found in a cubicle or library! Until then...

Yours Truly,

The Lone Wolf who hunts the setting sun by the Sea ,

Welcome to the forum Werewolfzz,

You sure make it sound nice. As I read the list above I felt like saying, "Yeah, right". But then I gave it a little thought and decided, Yeah, that's about right.

LOL ... Well, they say we see the world the way we want to see it =)

I suppose that as I look ahead to the next 20 years (that I'll be spending in one variation or another of a cubicle), I'm just trying to convince myself that one day I'll be throwing darts at a caribbean map to determine my heading =)

Dreamin' the Dream!

Not all sailing is virgin islands. Try to avoid building your image of cruising based on a West Indies trick (that is, unless you want to sail only there, only in the winter ;-)).

Next vacation go NY to UK. You will get a different set of incentives.

Yes, cubicle sucks, but it is warm and dry.

Well, if you're in the Santa Barbara area week after next feel free to drop by the harbor... I'll be pulling the engine out of my boat for good. I'll be the guy covered in grease watching the sunset with a cocoa in hand down in marina 1 (it's too cold for beer).

I went down to the boat for a couple of days this week. It was cold. There was frost on the deck in the morning. Still, I slept better then I have since moving back on land in the fall. Something about the motion I think. Of course I was there to do some work on the boat ... speaking of being slave to something (though it isn't a cube)
