"Can cruising life be simpler? Certainly.
Cruising forces you to make decisions about what's important to you."

Question and answer, both as simple or complex as we make them.

I think it is time to stop thinking and go for a sail, I might even buy that boat.

Thanks for all the input.
I found the thread <Do You Know of Anyone Who Quit Right Away ?> very enlightening for all asking a similar question.

We've been asked many times from shore side friends and family about life living on a boat. We get odd questions like "how do you cook" and "do you ever come to shore". When we explain what life aboard for us is like they say "I could do that". My comment to that is this. Why don't you? This the fact, we live like this all the time, not just on a boat, everywhere. We don't need a boat to live this way. In an apartment, in a motor-home or on a boat. This is a life style. You what to live like this. Do it.
Take care.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Its good to have you here. Its only simpler and easier if you pick a boat that is easier to take care of with simpler rigging and less electronics and electrical gear.
So I agree with what folks have said about it being as simple and easy as you want it to be.
You can do a great deal of cruising on a low budget if you are not in the "keep up with the Jones's" mode and can get along with refrigeration, air conditioning and all the latest communication equipment.
My current point of view is that 32-36 sloop is the simplest, easiest and cheapest if you can't get along with something smaller. I was almost convinced that I needed a cutter until I started assembling all the extra components required to make it work its best. Fiberglass hull and small diesel engine keeps maintenance to a minumum.
Good luck in whatever you chose.
kind regards,

True. But the question remains the same.
