I recently acquired a sailboat which was supposed to have been a T-23
Columbia. While trying to order replacement windows I realized that something was different about my
boat from a typical T-23. The
cabin top is different as well as the transom mine has an added feature concerning the
rudder mount. Upon further
inspection of the vessels
interior I I noticed on the
electric panel the name Iona 23. I googled Iona 23 and found a
boat that looked very similar to mine. I was only able to find two pictures of an Iona 23 on the
Internet both were similar but neither looked exactly like mine. In my opinion, my boat has
Columbia windows just not the same as the T 23. The
cabin top is definitely an Iona 23. I am very confused as in my
cockpit there is a plaque that states that it is a Columbia design by Sparkman and Stevens of
New York. The title and
electric panel say Glen-coe boats as the
builder. Other than the differences I described above this boat appears to look exactly the same as the Columbia 23, This goes for the
interior as well. Does anyone have a clue about the origin of this vessel? I am getting the feeling that she may be a rare item. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
