Chesapeake Bay, lake erie sailors?

New to the forum and new to sailing. I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. Is there any down to earth sailors in the Chesapeake bay or lake erie who would be game for showing me around a cruiser? I would opt for lessons but I'll be straight forward I'm poor and can't afford several lessons at $600 a lesson from as a 101 to 104 not In my budget. But I'll tell you what is in my budget, say a couple hundred bucks some grilling and a few beers! I'm not looking for someone to go over every detail I'm not a complete noob, I know vast majority of vocabulary and the essentials of sailing (you can still test me if u want) here's where you can laugh and judge me the only sailing experience I have is sailing canoes lol hope to hear from everyone

Re: Chesapeake Bay, lake erie sailors?

Sailing on the Chesapeake on the cheap couldn’t be any easier! Go to the local sailing club and volunteer to crew! Most fleets have someone looking for crew, even lightly experienced. There’s a few clubs in the Annapolis area and sailing is a year round event. PM me if you’d like more info.

Welcome aboard!
