Checking in; another wanabee

Hi all,

I am still a few years away from doing anything however I have gained a wealth of information just reading some of your posts. I haven't sailed in over 30 years and that was on my dad's Coulmbia 22 but, I have the desire to get a boat and see the world from a diffrent perspective. Looking down on the world sailing through the sky is great but you miss the details!!

I have two areas that I would like to spend some time exploring in detail, the Med and the South Pacific. I am sure other locations will join the list in due time but these are where I want to start.

As you might have guessed my Capn rating is in airplanes not boats, I do plan to study for the marine ratings. A lot of the weather, comm and, nav should transfer; not having the option to climb or descend may be the hard part.

I will have a ton of questions so forgive me if I am redundant, I look forward to your advise and comments.

Steve

Yeah, in boats you try to avoid descents! Welcome!
I have my pilot's license and the navigation certainly transfers, especially GPS familiarity
