You already found me, and acquaintance and admirer.
How did you know I was?

I am a friend of FOU, and have been since 1973. He lives near us and is still sailing. Met him in N.O.LA when he was abord the ketch Juanita. He still refers to himself as the Broken Down Carib Capt./Pirate.

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, LEOCAT66.

Although he won’t likely remember me, I remember Fou with the greatest respect & fondness! Any friend of Captain Fou’s, is a friend of mine.

Gord, from where do you remember Fou? His memory is very sharp. He is @ 69 now, but will probably remember you. He has no computer access as far as I know. Most of his life was spent down island, Bahamas, BVI and St. Thomas. He returned to Southern MS in 2002 or so.

We met Capt. Fou on Saturday, March 13, 1993, in Governors’s Harbour, Eleuthra, during the Storm of the Century*. Fou was instrumental in helping to save “Southbound”, our C&C 29, from going on the rocks.

* The Storm of the Century, also known as the ’93 Superstorm, or the (Great) Blizzard of 1993, was a large cyclonic storm that occurred on March 12–13, 1993, on the East Coast of North America. It is unique for its intensity, massive size and wide-reaching effect. At its height the storm stretched from Canada to Central America, bringing hurricane-force wind gusts, and very high seas in the Bahamas.

Gord,

That the one that forced the Concord to land in Bangor Maine, and some old folks thought it was an alien spaceship.

Well Gord, you will be happy to know that he does remember you. He has told me that story in detail and remembers you and the storm well, not by name but by event. He is the real deal.

Yes, I’m pleased to be remembered (tho’ wish the circumstances of our meeting weren’t quite so memorable). Indeed, it was a memorable storm, generating several memorable events that weekend. Give him my VERY best regards! He IS the real deal.

I find it somewhat strange that the original poster seems to have vanished after their request.

Thumbs up Re: Captain Fou

I'm looking for captain for about 17 years. He left a bunch of VW's with me and went to the islnds. If any body knows where he is tell him that his old friend Lionel Petit is looking for him.
