Capetonian onboard

Hi - I am Gavin Berry, my wife and I have just bought a 34' sloop after beginning our search 27 years ago! In between we had a few kids, travelled around and, I must confess, had a share of a Beneteau in the UK.

I am hoping that all the wise folk out there will help me avoid the stupid mistakes (probably too much to hope to avoid all mistakes!)

We live in Hout Bay - the largest fishing harbour on the Cape Peninsula - right down the bottom of Africa (in South Africa).

Thanks - talk soon

WELCOME Aboard Gavin and family.

CF is a great forum.

Just remember one thing. You will always make stupid mistakes.
Let's just hope they are little mistakes and nothing serious.

GOOD SAILING

Hi Gavin,

Welcome aboard. This is a great resource, with a wealth of very experienced sailors happy to share their knowledge.

I too am originally from Cape Town (Hout Bay) and am now a Sydney resident.

Cheers

Rory
