Buying my first boat

Hi there, I'm Bob from Toronto Canada and I've just joined the site to make new friends and learn more about sailing.
So I've been sailing several times and absolutely love it. I'm moving to Vancouver next spring and plan to buy a sailboat for a year around live aboard. I'd like some advice on some good boats with lots of room but still sail nicely. I don't care too much about speed but more about comfort. I'm a new sailor and will be using experienced crew to guide me but eventually I'd like to be able to sail her single handed. I'm 6ft4 so that's something to keep in mind as well but I totally get crouching is a way of my future. HAHA
Also if anyone has any info on marinas or docks that allow year around live aboards I'd appreciate the info. I'll be working in the Surrey or Delta area so something in a decent proximity would be awesome. Thanks Everyone

Bob

Howdy and Welcome Aboard CF Bob!

It sounds like you have the fever (to own and live on a sailboat).

You will find many members of CF have been through that too.

There is a wealth of information here on CF that can help you, if you take the time to read through the thread archives in the various sub-fora.

Good luck on your boat and marina hunt.
