Butterflies in My Stomach

Hello everyone my name is Lucas, iam 25 years old.
I have bean living in gibsons harbour on various boats since i was 11.
Starting with a cal 25 (my dads.)
seeking independance in my early teens i purchased delapidated ex-fishing boat and later a sinking wooden wreck.
both of which were foul nastly full time projects just to keep floatint (but a cheap place to call home)
however for the last two years I have been the proud owner of a 1978 fortune 30.
Ownerbuilt right here in Gibsons by a local man and wife.
After 3 solid years of working as a marine construction labourer (hard work)
iam moments away from paying off this boat, the first of which im truley proud to be the owner of.
Countless late nights and long weekends went into upgrading her many hinden wires and plumbing pipes(ewwwww.)
Im still living aboad and still fixing her up.
Now it gets exciting though all my pennies are going to savings so in 11 more months (Sept.)
I can untie the lines and fufill one of my many dreams.....Cruising.
Iam mostley wrighting this longwinded hello to thank all you wonderful people for allowing me to
eavsdrop on your many years of accumulated knowledge.
It has been a great asset recently, mostley for non-bias product reviews (wind generators ect.)
Thanks again and Happy cruising to you all.

Sounds like your head is in the right place. Welcome aboard the CF I'd like to see some pics of your boat if you've got some. Sounds like you've been up, down, in and out of it well enough to get comfortable with repairs and maintenance, which is a huge plus. For many sailors, realizing the total amount of work that goes into just keeping a boat afloat is a shocking discovery.

Hi Lucas,
I can see your place from mine, well sort of, I'm on Gabriola. I hope to run in to you (not literally) out there sometime. I also look forward to hearing some of your adventures.

G'Day Lucas,

You seem to be sliding down the slippery road to being a yottie (Australian name for boat bum), which is an exalted station in life. Welcome aboard to the CF and to the best way of life yet discovered... but you seem to have figgered this out on your own.

Cheers from down under
