Bob

Hi folks I FINALLY got my boat after a year long search. I have been here before under a different user name. I have went through hundreds of advertisements trying to be patient. I got some luck on craigs list and found a bilge keel kingfisher 20. She from 1965 and dirty as hell right now but solid as a rock with the exception of the rudder. Its perfect for the area I am in. Tides range from mud to 3.5 feet in the Eastern Branch of the Elizabeth River where the boat will be berthed. Two Marines sailed her from England 20 years ago. Right now she in a slip in Urbanna Va. Home of the Oyster festival if any of you are familiar with it. I will be moving her to Chesapeake Va soon. The boats been badly neglected but the fiberglass is very heavy . Well enough blabbering on . Much of the advice I got here helped to rein me in a bit so I didn't over do it on size of My first boat. Thanks for the help folks.

Re: Bob

Bob,

Welcome back and glad you found a boat. I used to own a British built gaffer with bilge keels, ton of fun grounding her out on sandbars.

Re: Bob

Aloha and welcome back!
Congratulations. It is surprising what some bleach and elbow grease can do on a neglected boat. She'll be a fun project.
kind regards,
