Best decision of my life

Hello All,

This is my second thread as a new member... I bought a project boat on October and essentially just went through almost a full restoration of my 1982 Tanzer 27... A few projects left and that's why I'm here... For advice -

Oh, I should not that I don't have the slightest clue how to sail...

Historically, I've been a NEW power boat guy all my life mas wanted something different...

So I jumped in with reckless abandon and both feet...

Looking for any ideas and thoughts on sailing in general and eventually some help with the last few projects I have...

Cheers!

Here's to a great season and fond memories to come !

Sailing for dummies. Sounds bad but it's a really good resource.

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I would suggest basic sailing courses. That's just to get you out there learning safety stuff and how to use sail trim. All you need is one to get you started then maybe you'll like them enough to take another.

Welcome aboard & congrats on the boat "seaturkey". I just bought a boat myself for the sole purpose of having a hobby project. I don't know a damn thing about sailing yet, but that will take care of itself in due time.

See if you can find an instructor who will teach you on your boat. Many charter companies use "contract" instructors who may freelance.

Start Sailing Right is another good book.

Alternately take a "competent crew" course and you will get the basics.

Yes, definitely on "Start Sailing Right!" it's a very good simply put instructional manual to learn the basics.
