Back at it Again

Hi to all, we are Steve and Tracy formerly of the Mason 44, SV HANNAH. Hannah was sold in 2009 in N.Z. after a two year cruise from Seattle. Reason such a short cruise this time is our son wanted to complete high school in a public school so here we are in Hood River Or. We never thought we would go cruising again and the most we could hope for was coastal sailing our other boat a Rhodes Chesapeake 32. But we couldn't stand just hanging out growing veggies and decided to buy another cruising boat. After seeing the French in their aluminum centerboard boats in the S. Pacific our traditional former New England boat ways changed. Not that the Mason was bad, she sailed wonderfully but we wanted a complete change, maybe it is that we are getting old at 59 and 60.
A couple of weeks ago I went to France, spent a week sailing with the owners of the Boreal boat company and I was very impressed with the boat and the workmanship that goes into a Boreal44 so I shook hands and ordered one. It will be started this November and completed in June 2013. We will head off from France, eventually going back to the S. Pacific we love, all of it.
If I can help anyone with a question I will be glad to post. We will be looking for help in the electronic field as things have changed so much in just 4 years. Also hopefully some advise in finding the best way to supply our new boat that is in the EU.
Later
Steve and Tracy

Re: Back at it Again

Nice looking boat! Seems like a good choice. I am doing a bit of re-fitting on my boat so I could pass on some info on electronics and electrics, but over here you will find people with vast knowlege that will be happy to offer their help, and a lot more qualified than yours truly. Still, if I can be of help...

Re: Back at it Again

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, Steve and Tracy.

Congratulations on the new boat!
Did you sail with Jean-François, or with Jean-François, at Boréal ?

Thanks all for the welcome.
GordMay, I sailed with Jean-Francois and hoping that Jean-francois will be coming out to Oregon/Washington this fall to go flyfishing for steelhead with me over on the Snake River and Grand Rhone River.
