Question Re: Aussie SouthCoast 36 Yachts

Looks like we are becoming SC36's shortly. After survey will be bringing her to bundy. As we've had Adams 10 and Farr 11.6 any suggestions from anyone how I adapt to the slower speed. I know that sounds lame, but it isone small/large niggle for me. Although our first boat was a lovely wee glass folkboat.

Re: Aussie SouthCoast 36 Yachts

I’m looking at a South Coast 36 next week and was wondering if the owners group still exists? The old msn group link doesn’t work.

Hi Straydog4612. You must have traded the speed of your former boats for something the SC36 offers? Just enjoy the "something" else.

Re: Aussie SouthCoast 36 Yachts

Hi Christo65. I doubt that there is still a group as such. So many SC36s have changed hands over the last 5 years or so that the old group will have well and truly scattered.
Why not try to form one yourself when you get your 36. Set up a Facebook page and go from there.
Is your prospective 36 the one in Tin Can Bay? Very few have come on the market lately - owners must be happy! Good luck and fair winds.

Re: Aussie SouthCoast 36 Yachts

Hi GeoffRob......hoping to look at one in Sydney soon called Suzie. I'll be interested to see what the passageway to the aft cabin is like as well as the length in the v berth. I spoke to the guy in Tin Can Bay but I think he's converted the v-berth to storage on that one and he doesn't have any decent photos to really help sell it.

Re: Aussie SouthCoast 36 Yachts

Hi christo65. Suzie looks pretty good. She was for sale back in Feb 2015 with YOTI for $76k - and that was reduced. To quote their advert, "the standing rigging was replaced in 2009, her engine completely re-conditioned in 2005, new main sail and mizzen by Northsails were added in 2009, new stainless steel water and holding tanks added in 2010 along with a replaced Muir electric windlass."
So rigging is on the 10 year limit - but that is better than "original" - and it may be still in great nick.
BTW - if you're still looking for an owners group - check out the various owners from the first page of this thread.
Happy hunting.

Re: Aussie SouthCoast 36 Yachts

Is there a current SouthCoast FB page or group?

Thank you in advance.
