Another newby checkin' in...

Greetings, one and all.

Don't know how I managed to avoid registering with Cruisers Forum until now, but that oversight has been fixed. I've been signed on with the L&A board, Midnight Watch, Renegade Cruisers, you name it -- now I'm psyched for checking out all that cruisersforum has to offer, and getting to know the folks on board.

FWIW, I've been sailing about 11 years, now on my 2nd boat, an O'day 322. I'm primarily a coastal cruiser who's itching to someday leave the shoreline far behind and see what real bluewater has to offer. My stalwart crew usually consists of my wife and our teenage (not for much longer) daughter. When they're not available, I either singlehand the boat or call up a few friends.

If you're ever in the NYC/NJ area, be sure to give me a shout.

Welcome Pete, I'm new too; finding that many members of this forum have breadth-and-depth of knowledge about blue-water cruising. Enjoy it and when you make that trip through the canal swing north and visit us in Newport (Oregon, that is).

Just be aware we are not quite as ..errr..."Liberal" as some of those other boards. But I can assure you that we are friendly and the Mod/admin team try to ensure all members are kept "safe". We accpet any and all no matter what level of experiance.

Right where I wanna be

Alan: I'm not concerned about whether or not Cruisers Forum is as "err... liberal" as the other boards I've been part of at one time or another. Hanging out online with a bunch of good-natured cruisers is reward enough for me.

Scallywag: Little Silver is in Monmouth County, just outside Red Bank (on the little peninsula that separates the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers). That's where home is; the boat's in Jersey City (or will be this summer). Stop by if you're in the 'hood.

Welcome Pooby
I keep my boat in Port Jefferson, NY. I like the name of your boat, one of my favorite singers is Emmie Lou Harris.
