Hi out there in cyberspace. I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now & have found it equally informative & enjoyable. On the anvils of experience comes the best advice. I am in the process of selling my home & hope to be living onboard by the summer.
Thanks for continuous encouragement from all of those who have stepped from the shore.

Don't know if I'll ever be full time
Good luck in your endeavors to go full time. I don't know if I'll ever be there, but I do hope to do some couple of month sails to the Queen Charlottes and possibly higher from Vancouver, BC. Keep up the posts with questions and mistakes and we all learn. I make lots of mistakes but so far I haven't drilled a hole through the hull while the boat was in the chuck...... yet.
What type of boats are you looking at? |

Good morning(at least it is morning hear on the east coast of the US),
I bought an Island Trader 37 last November. I previously had an Ericson 29'. Actually I still have the Ericson though she is for sale. I am looking forward to Spring because I have had the Island Trader on only one voyage & I know there is a huge learning curve because of the larger vessel & also going from a sloop to a ketch. A friend of mine said it appears I have traded my pickup truck for an 18 wheeler. Maybe so, but I feel that living on the bigger boat will provide a lot more comfort. I lived on the Ericson at one point for about 6 weeks but in the summer in Virginia in order to have any level of comfort at all, AC & refrigeration are very important. At least to me they are. I will say that at times I already miss the simplicity of the smaller boat with fewer systems.
