Another newbie

OK, so I registered just to win the anchor but I may as well introduce myself. I'm a former liveaboard (W32) and cruiser (SoPac on other people's boats), now back on the water after 15 years of landlocked living. After recently buying a 1989 IP35 in Annapolis, we (myself, wife, and 11yo son) are preparing for a one-year US east coast cruise. I'm learning the boat (readverhauling all systems) and preparing for home schooling 7th grade. No questions right now, but I'm sure I'll have some later.

I know... No need to elaborate!

I feel the the camaraderie in it it... I am/have a very popular (and mischievous) monkey profile on another completely different online social site... Avatar attached (cut off but clearly states that I'm incorrigible)...

Thanks, SkiprJohn. I see you're retired USN in HI. First, thank you for your service. Second, I started sailing as a SWO Ensign in Pearl Harbor. I found out it was cheaper to live on a sailboat than in an apartment in Waikiki (go figure--I bought my first boat as a way to save money). Anyway, glad to be here and thanks for the welcome.

Re: Another newbie

Thank you too for your service. I too lived aboard while stationed in and around Pearl Harbor. Those were back in the old days prior to the Ford Island bridge. I was always surface as well. ESWS Command Master Chief retired as CMC Pearl in '91.
