Another New Columbia River Member

Hi All --

Just joined the board today. I own Betty Lou, a 1979 deep fin keel Tartan 37, moored in St. Helens, Oregon on the Columbia River. I am the second owner, having purchased the boat three years ago. She is well found, and the PO kept her in immaculate condition.

I've had Betty Lou off shore for two passages up and down the Washington coast. The last trip was to Barkley Sound on the West coast of Vancouver Island. Plans are to go North as often as possible, with a circumnavigation of Vancouver Island, a visit to the Queen Charlottes, and extended cruising in SE Alaska ahead of us.

Currently reworking a lot of systems, have rewired the AC, replaced the fresh water plumbing, added a computer based nav system, and am planning to add a diesel furnace. Of course the list goes on and on... new dodger, sails, updated electronics, etc etc etc.

Boat blog is here: Log of the Betty Lou

Aloha Alpinista,
Welcome aboard! Great boat. I grew up walking logs on the Willamette just down I-5 from you but that was another life more than 50 years ago.
Good to have you here.
Kind regards,
JohnL
