Another g'day from Adelaide, South Australia !

Hello all, had cruisers app for about a month now , saw a new member today from my town so thought I might also join. Have had jet skis for many years (since 1994) having owned 6 jet skis over last 15 years and still have 1 today, thought as I was getting to many aches and pains after using them (age does that) I decided to purchase my first boat in October 2010. It is a 2004 Four Winns Vista 288 . I keep it moored at my home which is water front. But now over 12 months on,my curiosity for sailing seems to be taking over. I am seriously considering purchasing a sail boat around 32 to 40 feet. Whilst this is a few years away for now I like to start my research early, I know nothing about sailing and very little about boats for that matter so here I am sucking up all the knowledge and ideas of all on these forums. Seriously considering the swap from cruiser to sailor in a few years,I'll keep you posted.

Ps:Nick Brock are you the Nick Brock that grew up in Gawler as a teen I the late 80,s?

Small world if it is?

Darrell.

Welcome to the group mate. It will be great to lead you from the dark side to the light. (psst dont mention jetskis -the work of satan.) I wont bore you with all the reasons sailing is the best pastime on the planet. But, a good way to start is a course here or there or even crewing down at the local sailing club on a sunday arvo. Great to hear from you

G'Day Darrell,
Anyone planning to bin a jetski and take up sailing deserves 100% support!
No, seriously, anything on the water is good. Just some things are gooder than others.
Good luck on the change - and go look at the Adams / Lidgard 40's if you fancy a cruiser with a racing attitude.
Cheers
JOHN
