When did they change the Winter Solstice? It used to be December 21~22 (depending on the year) for as long as I can remember. Is this like the new Daylight Savings times?

KillerBoo-

welcome to the forum, I too find it surprisingly freindly and sharing those goood pieces of info.

As a fellow Swedish sailor, I must say I really enjoyed KillerBoo's long thread on a swedish forum (maringuiden?) about how he sold off house and pretty much everything and moved aboard his little Maxi77 (that's 7,7 meters LOA folks) ad spent a loooong and cold nordic winter onboard.

Great read, but in swedish of course for anyone who understands it. I know we are a few.....

BTW, ditto the Abba (music) and Volvo tractors.

The herring, of course is another matter...

Cool

Zeehag, The coldest summer in San Diego? You should come to Baghdad if you like it warm. 120 to 130 in the summer. Now it is much more pleasant about 80.

Yeah this forum is great, just takes up most of my spare time. Volvo's make a great rock truck even on nice sunny days like today when its only -25 celcius. By the way Hummingway would u mind a PM about boat tax differences between alberta and bc? Trying to dodge some tax.

Nice thing about your boat Zee, you can sail to warmer weather if so inclined.
