Aluminum Dix 43 PH Under Construction

Greetings! We have been building a Dix 43 Pilot House in aluminum since May 2009. We recently turned the hull upright, and the real fun now begins-thinking about systems, interior , etc. I plan to make much use of the vast storehouse of knowledge on the cruisers on this site to help make decisions about the myriad details. In return, I can offer my experience of more than 28 years of professionally building things ( furniture, machines, architectural details , a couple of smaller wooden boats, sculpture in wood, metals and glass, a house). You can see our progress on my blog at Building Odyssey

Best
Brian

That really is a beautiful boat. I'm always scared away by the potential price of aluminum compared to steel, but I do love the lines you can achieve with aluminum. Steel design is getting better, but it'll never be able to match the lighter stuff in certain areas.

Great job, and thanks for the pictures.
