Alouette
I just purchased my first boat!...she is so beautiful and will be my home. Alouette is the name.
I was really happy when I signed, but after two weeks, I am little bit tired, as there are so many things to do...I am at Santa Barbara Harbour, and hope to move soon to Ensenada,( here everything is so expensive!) and from there to Panama.
My liferaft is to inspect and here they asked me 900 USD, and 15 days.
Do you think in Ensenada I can find best prize and a quicker service?
As for insurance, you can suggest a good one, to sail international waters, that I can make online?
Thank you sailor for your help!!

Re: Alouette
Aleoceans,
Wherever you have the liferaft re-packed, it is best if you are there to see everything goes into it that is supposed to, as well as personal items such as a spare pair of glasses, etc. There's a thread on re-packing life rafts right now, you might want to read some of the stories about what is sometimes left out. I have over 35 years of listening to re-pack awful stories, this is not an empty horror story.
I do not know about on-line insurance. Usually, where I am, in Australia, the insurance company requires an out of the water survey.

Thank you all for your answers.
The boat is a Alden Caravelle, 42 built in 1971.

Re: Alouette
You certainly got one beautiful boat, I know, because I was seriously interested in her, I almost had an offer in when you beat me to it.
Hope you enjoy, they are beautiful fast boats.

Re: Alouette
Welcome to CF and congrats on getting your new to you boat!
If your boat looks anything like the photo posted above, then she is a beauty.
Varnished brightwork on cabin sides, overhangs, and dark hulls always catch my eye today! The classic styling is sure to turn heads in any anchorage.
Put some chromed dorades on her and she will sparkle!
For those who don't already know, "Alouette" means "lark" a type of bird known for its melodious song.
