Cool Allow me to introduce myself

Hello,

My name is Thaddeus, out of St Paul, MN, new to sailing and this board.

I did a whalewatching tour on a 54 foot cat on vacation in Hawaii and a long term bug became a full blown infection.

I want to sail. Always did. Now I'm putting dreams into action.

So, I took some basic lessons this summer in a Venture 420, loved it, am converting a canoe to a sailboat for this summer, & will be buying something larger next summer, with an eventual goal of sailing around Lake Superior in a few years in some pocket cruiser.

I'm handy with my hands and plan to restore whatever it is I buy. Sweat equity rocks.

Looking forward to getting to know folks here and learning from you all.

cheers

Thaddeus

Thaddeus welcome to the board. My wife and I started sailing in Minneapolis some years ago then moved down to Virgina 3 years ago. We started out on Lake Minnetonka at a sailing club at Sailors World. We had a tremendous amount of fun sailling 22 - 25 ft boats on the lake. Especially since it was just 20 minutes from the house. I now realized it was the cheapest sailing we ever had.

There are an infinite number of ways to sail and my only advice is to get as much as you can.
