Re: Ahoy Matey!! Care To Weigh My Mizzen?

Hi SailorChic,

Thanks, I think I'm the only one around here who actually read the rules. I've forgotten most of them already though. I tried to avoid the G--word, but Astrid kind of tricked me into it. It is sort of like that whole 'Garden of Eden' thing. I don't regret it at all. Where would we be without that apple? A single freakin apple. People go on and on about g*ns! What about apples? Now I'm pissed. Sorry SailorChic, I didn't mean to get all emotional there. I'm glad she took the g**da*n apple. I love apples. And applesauce and apple cider. Have you ever had apfelsaft? It is nothing fancy, just apple juice. How about apfelkorn? Now we're talking. Glad to meet cha! Gotta run, the cats are chasing me.

Re: Ahoy Matey!! Care To Weigh My Mizzen?

NautiBits, glad to hear you had such a positive experience flying with the Zoomies. You can still travel that way, only I think it's $20. And if you're fixin' to retire the second time, from teaching, you'll have plenty of time to put up the (lack of a) schedule.

And if you happen to find a hop coming to the Land of Oz (or if you find yourselves arriving here by sail boat, or however), and if I'm still here, please stop in for a beer or three. And I won't even use you as a 'Shabbes Goy' like the rabbi in Brooklyn did.

Good boat hunting!

Don

Re: Ahoy Matey!! Care To Weigh My Mizzen?

RabbiD:

You're making me think! Very tricky.

There used to be a MAC that went from Travis to Hawaii to OZ over a weekend. I think it left on Thursday and returned on Sunday or Monday. I tried to work that into my schedule when I was in the Mojave. If I ever make a wrong turn coming out of Turtle Kralls after Happy Hour and end up in Oz, you're on.

Shabbes Goy? Who knew that could be a good thing? People may have called me that and I gave them the finger. In New York, one can get cursed at in many different languages in the same day. I recollect being pretty good at it. Colin Powell and Mario Coumo are both celebrated Shabbes Goy. That's pretty good company! It is nice to be a Shabbes Goy! Thanks RabbiD!

Oh, BTW, you're not thinking of moving your shingle from Oz to Maine, are you?

Not a chance. Still, Down Under to Down East...it has a ring to it!

No doubt, I yam what I yam. From Descartes to Popeye, I sure know how to ruin a good thing.

I was afraid you might change your screen name to RabbiDonInMe. Clara might not think that was too funny.

Nauti, do you have a death wish or just masochistic tendencies?
You have been angling for punishment since your first post!

Re: Ahoy Matey!! Care To Weigh My Mizzen?

Hi C:

After 21 years in the US of Army, and seven more as an inner city math teacher, I believe there are strong arguments in favor of your assertion. Capping that off with signing on to this virtual group therapy session could put me over the edge. Similar outcomes to the over priming of the bottles in the ongoing beer thread may result. I'm hoping my experience is more like Columbus' experience than what is depicted in Pope Zachery's edict to Virgil.

As I've learned on here somewhere, there's nothing like a good flogging to cheer up the crew!

Toodles!

OK Nauti, put me out of my misery (or do you have sadistic tendencies as well LOL). Pope Zachary's edict to Virgil????? Time line makes no sense.

Just taking the bull by the horns in my usual manner LOL.
No inclination here to hide my blonde tendencies under a bushel .

Re: Ahoy Matey!! Care To Weigh My Mizzen?

Hi Folks!

Been busy polishing the shiny bits on my new (to me) boat.

Boat sails well! Makes a nice home too!

Learned how to seal windows with minimal caulk(less than 3 tubes for two windows!!) Keeping the water on the outside!

Fixed condemned oven. Works great now.

Working on condensation issue now. Texas has been uncharacteristically cold this fall. (Still was out in shorts and t-shirt today though)

On the street where I live, there is a Manta 40, a Lagoon 380, me, and a Seawind 1000. Good company!!

Much fun...and more to come....

'great to see your back and with the catamaran. Are your photos at the Corpus Christi Marina? Tell us about your PDQ and your cruising plans. We're headed down to the Keys in January. Your boat looks great!
