Ahoy mates!

Have been enjoying this site very much. I grew up sailing El Toros on northern California lakes. Have sailed Snipes, Lidos and Hobies. Had a MacGregor 25 on San Fransisco bay but am currently between boats.

The plan is to move to Corpus Christi some time next year where I plan to get into the local racing scene and finish my ASA course work. Eventually going to find a boat and get lost in the ICW. Looking for local knowledge of the sailing scene there. Looks to me like the local MORF fleet is the way to go. Are there any other places where the racers hang out?

I'm going down to CC at the beginning of Sept. to check for compatibility. I'm going to leave all the advertised attractions for when I'm living there. Are there any out-of-the-way areas ( marinas, beaches, sailor's pubs ) I should check out while I'm there?

See you on the net and have fair winds!

Welcome aboard:

Apologize for the late welcome. We are usually more prompt. Don't know anything about Texas sailing but there are a few Texas sailors on the forum. Good luck

There's a lake about 20 minutes away. Boat is on SF Bay though. Heading for Mexico in late October.

Aloha Starbolin,
Welcome aboard! Good to have you here. I enjoyed El Toros in the bays in Hawaii. Lots of fun. I'm too big now and don't bend like I used to but still can sail well on Sunfish.
Kind regards,
JohnL
