Ahoi from New Zealand !

Hi everybody, just joined this forum.
I converted an aluminium 40' Dough Peterson 2-ton IOR racer to a cruiser and sailed her with my partner from Germany to New Zealand / Australia and two more trips to the South Pacific from here. Just sold her after 17 years ownership and now we are boat hunting for a cruiser in the 45' to 50' range to do the missing half of the circumnavigation with our children (6 and 8).
See ya
Arne

Welcome to the forum,
we would love to see some pictures of your old vessel. Happy hunting for the boat.

Welcome sounds like quite a trip. Good luck with the famil version of the circle.

Welcome to the forum Arne.

I'm sure a lot of folks here would be interested to know how you converted that racing boat into a cruiser and your advice to others who are considering the same.
It comes up often here.
I think a "Convert Racing Boat to Cruiser" thread would be very interesting!
Welcome.
