Advice on power boat suitability required

Hi, l have recently sold my 36ft yacht and am looking at 36 to 38 ft diesel powered cruiser
I am thinking of a fiberglass hull twin berth boat of about 10 ton max
Here in aus (yachthub) there appears to be a large number of boats to choose from.
My budget is around 100 to 130k
Would like to cruise at about 8 knots
I think a single 6 cylinder motor should do
I am an ex diesel mechanic and fairly handy (jack of all trades master of none lol)
Do like grand banks 36ft but l think they are out of my price range
Would like to hear from experienced boaties re good hull design, economic motors etc.
Cheers brian

Re: Advice on power boat suitability required

Brian, perhaps your question is too general... and many of us don't know the boating market in Oz...

How do you envision using the boat? Sleeping aboard? Or not? Guests? Or not? Cooking aboard? Or not? Flying bridge? Or not? Et cetera. You could hum a few bars about all that, and it might help people suggest useful boats...

Another idea is to throw out names of a bunch of boats that appeal to you, and why. That'd maybe give folks a target (or several) for discussion, too.
